The Little Andaman Lighthouse is situated in the South Bay of Little Andaman. The Little Andaman lighthouse is a Circular 46-meter-high RCC Concrete tower commissioned in 1986. It is a remote manned lighthouse station. This Lighthouse station is also equipped with NAIS for the safe navigation of national seaborne merchant traffic through the exclusive economic zone of the country .Little Andaman Island is the fourth largest of the Andaman Islands of India with an area of 707 km2, lying at the southern end of the archipelago. It belongs to the South Andaman administrative district, part of the Indian Union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It lies 88 km south of Port Blair, the capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Little Andaman is connected through Helicopter services from Portblair. The inter-island passenger vessels of DSS are regularly plying to Hut Bay Port (of Little Andaman) from Port Blair by 6-8 hrs of sea voyage in fair weather conditions. The further journey can be made either through rosad from Hut Bay to lighthouse@14 km through dense forest or by mechanized dinghy by sea route @2 hrs journey in fair weather conditions. The Lighthouse is about 14 km( by road 6 Km from Jetty to Nallah and then 8 Km by Katcha Road up to the Lighthouse) south by road from Hut Bay port and is situated on the Southern tip of Little Andaman Island.
