Kalpeni Lighthouse

With increase in sea traffic and fishing activities, necessity to provide a powerful light house at kalpeni was felt. As such this light house was planned during the early 1970’s the 37 m high tower was constructed with CC block .The entire equipment component was supplied by m/s j stone india calcutta. The light house was commissioned on 21st november 1976.it situated at geographical location Lat.10° 04.50’ N , long 73° 58.54’ E.the tower is 41m circular RCC block masonry is painted with alternate black and white band.the light house was put in automation since 2013 and comes under minicoy RCS this station is also one of the PSS under NAIS since 2012.
