Olakuda Lighthouse

Olakuda Lighthouse which was commissioned on 9th October 2005 is water front to the serene Olakuda Beach in Olakuda village. It is nearly 6 Kms far away from the famous Arulmigu Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameswaram. The Lighthouse, which is situated in Olakuda village is helpful for Fishermen community there for safe navigation of their boats.

The Tower is a Rectangular type C.C Block Masonry having 15 meters height and Colour Scheme of Red and White Spiral bands. At present “LMV, Spain” make, BDL 250 Model, LED Flasher Optic having maximum Power Consumption of 29 Watts is in use with the character of Group Flash (2) White every 20 Seconds.
